OPI Liquid Sand

Hello beautiful! It Saturday and almost spring, yay! I hear birds chirping, the sun is shinning and it is going to be a wonderful day. Today I have one of the colors from the OPI Mariah Carey release. I received one of the Liquid Sand colors, Can't Let Go, in my Man Repeller Glossybox this month. Honestly, I wasn't going to get any of these colors, I didn't know how I felt about the whole textured thing. I thought it was going to be like glitter nail polish before you top coat it but I was totally wrong. I actually like the Liquid Sand finish! It is a really neat finish on your nails, it reminds me of a matte sparkle nail polish. It has as much sparkle as a normal glitter polish but with a matte textured finish if that makes sense. I tried to catch the Liquid Sand texture with my swatches, but I don't think I quite got the full effect.I used two coats for the swatches and no top coat.

What do you think? It is a really cool effect and I want to try a few more colors.  I did top coat it but it EATS top coat. And I mean eats it. I used two pretty thick coats of Seche Vite for the pictures and a few hours later it was bumpy again. I think you would have to top coat it 3 or 4 times to get a truly smooth finish.

Overall I really like the effect. I think I could have used one more coat, I could see a faint nail line with only two. I'm excited to see some bright color for summer in this finish! I think there are a ton of possibilities with some cool nail art with these matte finish polishes. What do you, my awesome readers, think of  OPI's Liquid Sand finish?
